Jaguar Land Rover Celebrates Millionth Car Constructed at Halewood
Jaguar Land Rover has confirmed that it has constructed its one-millionth car at the automaker’s Halewood plant.
The milestone car was a Range Rover Evoque that will be donated to Cancer Research U.K. Helping the factory to reach the one-million milestone ahead of time is the success of the Evoque, with a record breaking 230,000 models constructed over two years.
As for other vehicles that contributed to the recent success of the British comapny, the Jaguar X-Type has seen 363,604 models constructed within 2001-2009. The Land Rover Freelander 2 was also successful for the company, having seen 381,212 constructed to date since October 26, 2006.
“We are extremely satisfied to mark this enormous milestone for Halewood,” informed Richard Else, Operations Chief at Halewood. “This special Evoque looks thrilling and is a one-off car that will donate money for Cancer Research UK projects here in the North West.”
