Paparazzi caught Jaguar F-Pace Prototype in Europe
A completely camouflaged prototype of the Jaguar F-Pace has been snapped during its final testing on public roads.
Since the model is going to be presented around the globe this September at the Motor Show in Frankfurt, it has been almost completed and ready to reveal its production guise. The automaker’s first crossover is an evolution of the C-X17 concepts. It is going to adopt the “F-Pace” moniker which is much criticized. Also the car will have a lot of common things with the latest XE and XF. The vehicle will inherit the iQ[Al] platform from these models. The model under consideration will have a lightweight construction. It will have a variety of frugal Ingenium V4 turbocharged diesel and petrol engines.
An F-Pace S will probably be available from the first day. It will be equipped with a supercharged six-cylinder engine generating 340 hp. With the vehicle’s lifespan, a range-topping SVR derivative with a beefier supercharged eight-cylinder engine producing 550 hp will be available. A completely electric variant is probably being developed with an estimated range of 300 miles (or 400 km) too.
The automaker assures that the F-Pace is the “ultimate practical sports” vehicle. Jaguar does not prefer calling it an SUV, because it is sure that the car will be more than just a high-riding offering with a spacious cabin and a four-wheel drive layout. The F-pace will probably be sold with both five and four seats in its “thoroughly practical and spacious” splendid cabin.
Public presentation of the vehicle is scheduled for September at Frankfurt IAA. There are chances that the automaker might show the model online this August. According to the rumours, the model could be followed by a bigger J-Pace which will be based on Range Rover in four years.
