Jaguar Compact Sedan going to be
When Jaguar uncovered its C-X17 Concept in Frankfurt, the automaker was showing more than a fresh platform.
It was the first presentation of what will become a fresh product blitz directed at competing with Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. According to a new report from AutoCar, the company is planning 4 new vehicles based on the aluminum architecture. The first of those will be an all-new compact sedan meant to take on the 3 Series, C-Class and A4.
Brand boss Adrian Hallmark said the new sedan – called X760 – will be “the most advanced, most efficient, most refined vehicle in that lineup. Not almost as good as, but better than the best in the world.”
But that is only the first of a scheduled series of products that Jaguar hopes will release its sales digits far beyond the current level at around 60,000 units per year. Sales are rising this year but still not that popular as products from the sister brand Land Rover.
After the sedan, Jaguar is going to release a crossover smaller than the C-X17 Concept. There will also be a wagon and coupe constructed on the new platform. Jaguar Land Rover will also use the architecture to support the Evoque XL, a larger variant its current best-selling vehicle.
