Information about the New Ingenium V4 Family
More information about Ingenium powertrain family of Jaguar revealed before the coming Motor Show in Paris.
The British company is going to present the four-cylinder powertrains in Paris officially and has revealed some details about a few diesel powertrains. One of them will produce 161 hp and torque of 280 lb-ft. Another one, which is more powerful, will be able to produce 177 hp and torque of 317 lb-ft. Jaguar stated that the more powerful engine probably has one of the highest outputs of torque in the range.
It does not look like the diesel powertrains will reach the United States soon, though Jaguar discloses a few details about the Ingenium gasoline powertrains. They are going to be of 2.0 litres, four cylinders and turbocharged, alike their diesel countertypes. One of them will be able to produce 197 hp and torque of 206 lb-ft and the other one will boast 236 hp and torque of 250 lb-ft.
Jaguar will mate the Ingenium powertrains with either with an 8-speed automatic gear box or a 6-speed manual gear box across the globe. Looks like just the 8-speed model will reach the United States. Look for more information in few days once the official opening of the Motor show in Paris.
