''iPerformance'' Branding for BMW Plug-in Hybrids
BMW wants all its future plug-in hybrids to feature “iPerformance” branding.
This moniker will be used since this July. The plug-in hybrid versions of the latest BMW 7 Series (such as the 740 iPerformance) will be the first ones to wear it. The German producer assures that the new model designation indicates the transfer of technology from BMW I to the BMW core brand. The transfer of technical expertise on battery cells, electric motors and electronic control systems is included.
The iPerformance offerings will have the BMW i logo on their front fenders together with BMW i-style blue details in the kidney enclosure and wheel hubs. You will find an eDrive logo placed on the C-pillar. Clients will be glad to use the BMW i 360° ELECTRIC range of products and services with the BMW i Wallbox among them.
The company will present the iPerformance vehicle designation at this year’s Motor Show in Geneva along with the 740e iPerformance. The latest BMW M760Li, the BMW i8 ProtonicRed Edition and the BMW M2 will join it in Switzerland.
