Soon We will see the BMW X1 Plug-in Hybrid
The X1 plug-in hybrid version from BMW is preparing to premiere in 2016.
The model will probably be introduced as the BMW X1 xDrive30 iPerformance. The crossover under consideration will have the identical powertrain as the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer hybrid. So, it will be equipped with a 1.5-litre turbocharged V3 petrol unit producing 134 hp and torque of 162 pound-feet. Meanwhile the electric motor will add 87 hp. The system will give out 221 hp and torque of 284 lb-ft totally.
The hybrid powerplant gives a possibility to transfer power to the front, rear or four wheels depending on the drive mode. Similarly to the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer hybrid, the considered offering will be available with three fully electric modes: Max eDrive, Save Battery and Auto eDrive. The electric range will stand between 25-31 miles.
The plug-in hybrid will not receive any design changes from the producer. Expect to see only the extra door for the charger socket on the vehicle’s front fender.
