Some Cosmetic Upgrades to the launched in Australia BMW 340i 40 Year Edition
BMW Australia is placing into operation its 40 year edition 340i. It is supposed to honour the 40th anniversary of the 3-Series.
There will be only 40 vehicles produced. 20 of them will be painted in the company’s Individual Tanzanite Blue metallic hue. The other 20 cars will boast a Mineral White metallic colour. All the units are equipped with the M Sport pack, 19-inch M double-spoke alloy wheels of an Orbit Grey styling, satin aluminium accents from the outside and electric sunroof.
Inside the models under consideration you will find a wrapped in leather instrument panel cover along with a Merino Black leather upholstery for the white vehicles and an Opal White upholstery for the blue vehicles. There also will be the piano black trim with special 40/3 logo.
Any hardware changes were not involved. Therefore, the 340i 40 Year Edition will be equipped with the same 3.0-litre TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder generating 326 hp (or 240 kW) and torque of 450 Nm (or 331 lb-ft). The power is sent to the rear axle with the help of eight-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle is able to sprint 0-62 mph (or 0-100 km/h) in 5.1 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph (or 250 km/h).
The special edition 340i will reach dealerships in Australia very soon. Its price will stand at 97,900 AUD plus on-road expenses. Expect it to be 8,000 AUD more expensive than the regular AU-spec 340i model.
