Reviving a Legend: BMW Unleashes the Iconic M3 GTR from the Video Game World
Reviving the Iconic M3 GTR
BMW has collaborated with Electronic Arts to bring the iconic M3 GTR from the beloved video game 'Need for Speed: Most Wanted' to life. As part of the latest racing installment, 'Unbound,' the M3 GTR is now available as a playable car in the game's Vol 9: Prepare for the Lockdown update.
The automaker has meticulously recreated the E46 M3 with a special silver-and-blue wrap, reminiscent of its appearance in the game almost two decades ago. The real-life M3 GTR will be showcased at the BMW Welt exhibition center in Munich, Germany, from November 27 to January 6.
An Exciting Addition
The M3 GTR holds a special place in the hearts of Need for Speed fans worldwide. In celebration of the game's 30th anniversary, John Stanley, Senior Creative Director of 'Need for Speed: Unbound,' expressed the desire to do something extraordinary by bringing the M3 GTR to reality.
Not only will players get to experience the adrenaline of the M3 GTR, but they can also ride the first motorcycle ever introduced in the Need for Speed series—the BMW S 1000 RR. The Vol 9 update, available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, also features the Honda Integra Type R and the Subaru Impreza WRX ST.
