Prototype of BMW M5 Was Spied While Testing Four-Wheel Drive; 2016 MY BMW USA Offering Map Leaked
A prototype of BMW M5 was tracked down during its cold weather testing with an xDrive four-wheel drive system.
Last week BMW director told that future M offerings will be sold with an optional four-wheel drive and now the M5 F10 of the current generation was spied by Bimmer Post testing an xDrive system. The high performance sedan is not likely to receive four-wheel drive, because a 2016 M5 xDrive was not mentioned in a leaked BMW USA offering map.
In the result, it will be possible to obtain the M6 duo and M5 of the next generation at an additional price. They will be equipped with an optional xDrive setup when back-wheel drive will remain regular for pursuits.
The 2016 MY model map makes the rumour about a 340i variant replacing the 335i clear. It also confirms that the 3-Series Plug-in Hybrid will be produced in November as the 328e. It is interesting to know that the back-wheel drive 550i GT will not be manufactured in the near future, because the automaker has made up its mind to sell it with xDrive only. As to the other significant items, they cover X1 F48 and 7-Series G11 manufacturing which is going to start in August. The X5 eDrive (xDrive40e) will join the line-up this June.
