More Power For The Facelifted BMW i8 In 2017
The BMW i8 has came out on the market more than 3 years ago. It is expecting a refresh rather soon.
The latest report suggests that the facelifted super hybrid will be launched in 2017 with a whole bunch of enhancements. Probably they will be borrowed from the i8-based Formula E safety vehicle.
We remind you that the car features a combined output of the petrol-electric hybrid set-up. It will be increased by 15 hp more. Therefore, the total output will be 372 hp. The acceleration should be improved as well. Currently the model sprints to 62 mph in 4.4 seconds.
The company wants to extend the overall range of the car. A revised battery pack will help with that. The battery pack can be sourced from the Formula E safety car. It uses a 10.0-kWh battery. Meanwhile the production model is equipped with a 7.1-kWh battery.
