Minor Cosmetic Changes of BMW 3-Series Facelift
Theophilus Chin is currently working on the holidays and he will render next year's slightly facelifted BMW 3-Series.
BMW will make a subtle mid-life restyling for the 3-Series and Theo will render the compact executive sedan shown on last spy images with camouflaged prototypes. The hugest change at the front part will be the adaptive LED headlamps implementation together with mildly restyled bumpers and a slightly changed front radiator enclosure. A few changes for the back bumper are also planned, though it will be nothing essential.
It is more significant, that the BMW 3-Series of 2015 will probably be sold as a plug-in hybrid. It will be equipped with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline powertrain joined up with an electric engine and a lithium-ion battery. The last one will be installed under the trunk. The vehicle has been already previewed and it is expected to output a combined power of 245 HP (or 180 kW) and torque of 400 Nm (or 295 lb-ft). It also will return 117 mpg US (2 litres / 100 km or 140 mpg UK) with emissions of CO2 of 50 g/km and an electric range of 22 miles (or 35 km).
Besides adding an economical variant, BMW is developing a hot derivative as it can be seen in some last spy photos. They depict what it could be an M340i M Performance variant.
The 3-Series LCI from BMW could be presented at the first part of March in Geneva. It will be launched for sale by mid-2015.
