M760Li, a Flagship 7 Series from BMW is Being Developed
Images on the BMW’s Web-site show a powerful 7 Series that is being prepared to rival with the Mercedes AMG S65.
A BMW M760Li has got 600 bhp and is placed at the top of the range. It receives power from a twelve-cylinder unit. The images of a model badged “M760Li” appeared on a Web-site of the Munich brand for a short period of time.
The pictures signify an M Performance version. They were first noticed by Bimmertoday, a BMW blogging Web-site, when it was telling about a vehicle using the company’s online configuration instruments.
The configurator came up with an image of a long-wheelbase 7 Series with an 'M760Li' badge on the rear end, but the picture was soon deleted from the site.
The flagship performance oriented offering will rival with the Mercedes-AMG S65 and the Audi S8 Plus. It will probably be released for both Chinese and American markets.
The 760Li of the previous generation rode with a 6.0-litre turbocharged twelve-cylinder engine that produced 535 hp. The new offering is believed to generate about 600 hp.
We do not know at this point which unit will be used for the M760Li. There is a guess that it might be a detuned variant of the 6.6-litre twelve-cylinder that equips the Rolls Royce’s Wraith. According to other reports, the vehicle could harness the power with the help of the automaker’s xDrive 4-wheel drive set-up.
