Exciting Update: BMW Unveils Limited Production of the Stunning M8 Targa
BMW has ventured into the world of coachbuilding, reviving classic designs and creating limited-edition vehicles. After the success of the Batmobile and Clownshoe, they have now confirmed the production of the beautiful Skytop. However, there's a catch - all 50 units have already been spoken for.
While the price tag remains undisclosed, speculations suggest it was around €500,000 ($547,000). Although pricey, it falls short of the record-breaking €750,000 ($820,000) cost of the 3.0 CSL. The Skytop also stands out with its impressive technical specifications, including all-wheel drive, an eight-speed automatic transmission, and a twin-turbo, 4.4-liter V-8 engine producing 617 horsepower.
The Skytop's design is a departure from BMW's controversial recent style and takes inspiration from the elegant 507 and Z8 models. It features a shark-nose motif and clean lines, setting it apart from other BMW vehicles. The car comes with removable targa panels and a storage area in the trunk for easy removal and safekeeping.
While the interior carries over from the M8, it still offers a luxurious experience with handpicked materials. The positive reception of the concept prompted BMW to approve the limited production series, satisfying the dreams of all car enthusiasts.
