Envisioning of BMW M2 Gran Tourer as the MPV
The BMW 2-Series Grand Tourer has been digitally revised as a completed M offering by X-Tomi Design.
The 2-Series Active Tourer with five seats is a very controversial offering in the producer’s range since it is not just their first front-wheel drive vehicle, but also the first MPV. Sometime earlier this week the automaker has presented a variant with seven seats with the name 2-Series Grand Tourer. This is actually a large derivative which is able to host two passengers at the back. Right after the reveal, BMW uploaded photos with an M Sport Package. The company is trying to make the vehicle more apealing for €5,970.
Now X-Tomi is envisioning an M2 Grand Tourer which will probably never happen as there is no virtual market for high-performance MPV. Despite this, it is exciting to see the multi-purpose vehicle’s outlook in M guise.
Threre were Renault and Matra with a rear-wheel drive, mid-engined Espace F1 ten years ago. You can see them on the attached images. The vehicles had a lot of F1 details along with a carbon fibber body and chassis. A 3.5-litre ten-cylinder powertrain powered 811 hp (or 597 kPW). It was based on the Williams-Renault FW15C Formula 1 vehicle back in 1993. Though, it was probably a concept and a production version will never happen as it was created for celebration of the Espace’s tenth anniversary and involment of Renault in Formula 1.
