BMW started producing a new generation 1-Series hatchback
BMW started mass production of the third generation 1-Series hatch, which debuted in late May.
A new product was launched on the assembly line of the plant in Leipzig, Germany because it was here that the production of cars of previous generations of the first series was carried out.
The basis of the novelty is the modular platform FAAR, where the slider located transversely and the drive to the front axle replaces the longitudinal pattern with the rear wheels. This database is used today in the BMW X1, X2, plus the MINI Countryman.
Soon, BMW will produce 600 cars every day. The very first car - hatch modification 118i, which has a gasoline unit, a body in blue and a sports body kit.
The top car performance on the first days of sales is M135i xDrive. It has a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder supercharged engine with a power of 306 "horses" and 450 Nm. In the history of this is the most active commodity "quartet" BMW. The unit works with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system.
