BMW Believes U.S. to be the Biggest Market for i8 Sports Vehicle
The BMW i8 will officially debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show, but the vehicle’s product manager thinks the U.S. will be the biggest market for the fresh plug-in hybrid sports vehicle.
According to Hendrik Wenders, the target client for the i8 is a tech-savvy, affluent man who is at least 35 years old. The i8′s market release is going to start in around 9 months and will roll out simultaneously in dealerships globally. Wenders informed that the i8 will be delivered in around 50 countries.
And like the i3, clients can also order and buy an i8 online, via a call center, or salespeople will go directly to the client’s home to complete the sale. Earlier this week, BMW informed that the i8 will have a total system power of 362 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque while weighing less than 3,285 lbs.
