Airbag Issue with 2016 BMW 7 Series
The innovated 2016 BMW 7 Series is facing a recall. The German automaker announced that the high-end flagship sedan is facing a recall because of a potential airbag deployment.
26,000 vehicles manufactured before December 1 last year have airbags with a defective control module. The producer does not know about any faulty deployments connected with the issue.
47,000 new 7 Series have been manufactured and the company’s spokesperson shared with Automotive News that the recall is just a precautionary measure. It is not connected with a large Takata airbag recall because the faulty module was provided by Continental AG.
6,110 cars will be affected in America. There are the 750 Lxi, 750 Li and 740 Li offerings between them. 2,600 cars will be recalled in Germany and 4,700 – in China.
The owner of cars under the recall in America will get letters this May. Dealerships will fix the problem for free.
