395 HP from the BMW's Quad-Turbo Diesel Engine
New information about the coming-soon quad-turbo diesel motor of BMW appeared.
The engine is scheduled for the 2016 750d debut. It will be able to generate 408 hp (or 300 kW) and torque of nearly 800 Nm (or 590 lb-ft). The engine displacement stands at 3.0-litres. According to the latest report, its top power will be 395 hp.
The power will be sent with the help of an eight-speed automatic transmission and an xDrive four-wheel drive set-up. This engine will also equip the other 50d offerings with the lapse of time, but precise information about this is not available now.
At the moment, the diesel engine of BMW with the biggest amount of power has 3 turbochargers. Its output equals to 381 hp (or 280 kW). As to the torque numbers, they stand at 740 Nm (or 546 lb-ft).
