Introducing the 2026 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante: The Pinnacle of Convertible Luxury
Redefining Open-Top Performance
Opinions differ on whether removing the roof enhances a performance vehicle. However, with the V-12 Aston Martin Vanquish, the advantages of a convertible seem undeniable. Whether you prefer your grand tourer with an open sky or a closed structure, the V-12 Vanquish now offers both possibilities. Discover the 2026 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante.
The powerhouse beneath the hood remains unchanged from the coupe version. It features a 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V-12 engine delivering an impressive 824 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, all channeled to the rear wheels via an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. Notably, it stands as the most potent front-engined production car available, whether in hardtop or convertible form. Additionally, it achieves a top speed of 214 mph, matching the fixed-roof Vanquish.
However, acceleration is slightly affected. The Volante variant accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds, trailing the coupe by two-tenths of a second due to an added 209 pounds. Aston Martin describes this weight increase as “minimal,” suggesting the roofless Vanquish approaches a total weight of approximately 4,300 pounds when fluids are included.
Enhanced Chassis and Handling
The Volante benefits from a reinforced chassis that Aston Martin claims is nearly as rigid as the coupe's. While specific details are scarce, the suspension receives Volante-specific tuning paired with Bilstein DTX dampers. Braking is handled by six-piston carbon ceramic brakes at the front and four-piston units at the rear. It rides on the same Pirelli P Zero 21-inch tires that equip the coupe.
Luxurious and Functional Interior
Inside, the Vanquish Volante mirrors the coupe’s refined interior, featuring dual 10.25-inch digital displays—one for the driver and another for the central infotainment system. The primary distinction is a dedicated button to retract the K-fold fabric roof, which operates in 14 seconds and can be activated at speeds up to 31 mph. Raising the roof takes slightly longer at 16 seconds, and with the roof up, the optional titanium exhaust system’s sound is noticeably subdued. Unless weather conditions dictate otherwise, keeping the roof down is recommended to fully experience the exhaust’s performance.
Aston Martin's Vision
Adrian Hallmark, CEO of Aston Martin, remarked, "For six decades, Aston Martin Volantes have exemplified the elegance and sportiness of open-top driving. With its striking design and formidable V-12 engine—outpacing any other front-engine production car—the Vanquish Volante elevates this legacy to new heights."
While Aston Martin has not disclosed the pricing for the Vanquish Volante, it is expected to exceed the $434,000 price tag of the coupe. Production is slated to begin in the third quarter of 2025, with fewer than 1,000 units manufactured annually.
