Headlamps Issue Lead to Recall of 150,000 Volkswagen Passat Cars

Vehicles produced by the company during last two years are in the risk group for malfunctioning headlamps.

The fact that something might be wrong with the sedan sold in North America was discovered almost a year ago. Problem found in more than 150,000 vehicles seems to stem from the loosely screwed low beam that might eventually cease to work altogether. Affected are all the cars which were the products of model years 2012 – 2013.

Luckily, no connected incidents happened due to this malfunction, according to the report of the American profile vehicle security administration. Notifications will be released soon asking the owners to contact their dealers in order to get a free change for correctly working light bulb. Recall campaign will begin next month.

Until 2012 the vehicle by the German carmaker did not seem to be a success. Breakthrough for Passat followed with the launch of the special American version differing from any of the European modifications. A Tennessee-based assembly line was chosen for the production of the model.
