Koenigsegg Gemera Enters Production After Years of Anticipation

  • The Koenigsegg Gemera is a hybrid-powered four-door hypercar boasting 2,300 horsepower and 2,028 lb-ft of torque.
  • Koenigsegg first introduced the Gemera to the public in 2020.
  • All 300 units planned for production have already been claimed by buyers.

It's been a while since the Gemera made its debut, but now the Swedish automaker is finally starting production on this unique four-passenger hypercar.

Koenigsegg is known for its rapid vehicles but a more methodical approach to manufacturing. Recently, the company expanded its production capabilities, paving the way for the Gemera to reach customers soon.

Koenigsegg Gemera Production Commences

According to a post on Koenigsegg's official Facebook page, the Gemera production line is now fully operational alongside the ongoing assembly of the CC850. Soon, the lineup will be joined by the Sadair Spear. Enthusiasts who reserved the Gemera have waited patiently for this moment, which is finally here after six years.

Though the wait has been lengthy, the Gemera promises incredible driving performance. Marketed as a Mega-GT, it combines a twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8 engine with three electric motors to deliver staggering power.

Technical Highlights of the Koenigsegg Gemera

The hybrid powertrain produces a formidable total of 2,300 horsepower and 2,028 lb-ft of torque. Each of the rear electric motors generates 500 horsepower, while the front-mounted Dark Matter motor alone delivers an impressive 800 horsepower. The Dark Matter motor features advanced carbon fiber components, keeping its weight to just 86 pounds.

Power is distributed to all four wheels through a sophisticated nine-speed transmission known as the Light Speed Tourbillon.

Four Seats with Unmatched Performance

As Koenigsegg's first vehicle designed to carry four occupants, the Gemera offers an extraordinary blend of practicality and speed. Passengers will likely be thrilled—and perhaps a bit overwhelmed—by the car's explosively quick acceleration, which covers 0-60 mph in under two seconds. Its top speed comfortably exceeds 200 mph, while an 11-speaker sound system ensures an immersive cabin experience.
