First Glimpse of the 2027 Kia Seltos Reveals SUV Design Influences from Kia’s Flagship Model
Following the debut of the all-new 2027 Kia Telluride, the brand is turning attention to refreshing its smaller SUV offering, the Seltos.
Unveiled most recently at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the Telluride’s new generation impressed with its bold styling and family-friendly design. Now, Kia aims to bring some of that same flair to the subcompact segment with the upcoming 2027 Seltos.
The original Seltos, introduced to the U.S. market in 2020, gained popularity as one of the most affordable all-wheel-drive SUVs available. The upcoming redesign promises to elevate its appeal with design elements reminiscent of the upscale Telluride, including prominent vertical lighting features on both the front and rear, as well as signature daytime running lamps.
Visually, the new Seltos features a more distinct floating roof effect, highlighted by a blacked-out D-pillar and a sleek silver trim line above the side windows. Additionally, flush-mounted door handles similar to those on the 2027 Telluride are incorporated, enhancing the modern aesthetic. Though exact dimensions remain unconfirmed, spy shots suggest the new model may be larger than its predecessor. Despite these changes, Kia intends to maintain the exceptional value and feature-rich package that made the Seltos a popular choice.
For the first time, a hybrid powertrain option is expected to be introduced, although entry-level trims will likely continue with traditional gasoline engines. Kia has officially announced that the new Seltos will be available in both X-Line and GT-Line trims. More comprehensive details will be revealed on December 10 when the full model is officially launched.
