Lexus says record sales for 2021
Lexus sold 760,012 cars worldwide last year.
2021 was a record year for car sales in Lexus history.
The first market for the company was in North America, where it managed to sell 332,000 units (+12%). Customers bought the RX and NX crossovers the most, plus the ES sedan.
The second market for Lexus is China, where it sold 227,000 cars in 2021 (+1%), and the third place in Europe with 72,000 vehicles (+2%). The company is also selling hybrid vehicles well.
Lexus says last year could have set new sales records, but it didn't happen due to a global shortage of microchips and electric components, so it had to cut production.
