The most potent Mercedes became the absolute record on Nurburgring

The most powerful car in the German company's lineup, Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Coupe, set the Nürburgring North Loop record.

The car was driven into the hands of German driver Maro Engel, who won the FIA GT world championship with the 24-hour Nurburgring marathon.

Engel completed the 20.8-kilometer German track in 6 minutes and 43.616 seconds, which is over 1 second better than the last record of the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ (Super Veloce Jota) supercar.

Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series is equipped with the latest 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with 730 horses and 800 Nm. The engine works with a 7-speed "robot" with two clutches.

The novelty has a coil-over suspension and adaptive AMG Ride Control shock absorbers, plus there are adjustable anti-roll bars. The car also received a sophisticated aerodynamic body kit with the technology used in the GT3 and GT4 series.

The Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series coupe's top speed is 325 km/h, and the first 100 km/h is gained in 3.2 seconds.
