The new generation of Kia Optima will acquire an all-wheel-drive
TheKoreaCarBlog writes that the Korean brand decided to abandon the 7-speed “robot” by proposing two new transmissions.
The new Optima will receive a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine from the Theta III family. The production of vehicles with such units will be carried out from the first quarter of next year. The model with the latest unit will receive an 8-speed “robot” with two clutches.
The 1.6-liter supercharged engine will continue to be delivered to the Kia Optima engine range, but small innovations should be expected to meet eco-standards. New will be the 8-band automatic transmission developed by Kia. And for the first time, Optima will have an all-wheel-drive system.
