Smart leaves the USA and Canada
In Daimler decides to remove the Smart brand from sales in the US and Canada.
Here, the car will cease to be sold until the end of 2019.
Two years ago, the Germans declared that in the USA their cars will be sold like electric machines. We add that this decision became a reality in 2018. The American market didn't accept 'green' miniature cars. Over the past year, dealers here sold only 1276 machines (-58.5%). Since the beginning of this year, 231 cars have been sold.
The production of Smart for the USA and Canada will be finishing this summer, and the brand will completely bid farewell to these countries in December.
