Opel will reduce the model line, preferring electric cars

The break-even point for Opel should be end in 2 years, and the first profit is expected for 2020.

The company will reduce the number of its own models in order to bring to a new level the electrified future machines of the PSA Group.

The German media write that the company's technical center near Frankfurt will be the main point for every engineering enterprise that is engaged in partial/full electrification of new PSA cars. According to the restructuring plan of the German company, labor costs will be reduced in order to achieve an acceptable, as well as competitive price level.

Each future Opel car will also be based on technologies with PSA platforms, it also concerns engines with transmissions. It turns out that the Germans will be able to achieve better fuel efficiency with a reduction in CO2.
