Will Mercedes develop a Maybach SUV on Next-Gen Platform?

Mercedes-Benz made a hint on a luxury Maybach SUV. It can arrive in the near future.

Automakers compete in designing their super SUVs. Rolls Royce is finishing its Cullinan, Bentley has already prepared its Bentayga, and Lamborghini is developing a production variant of the Urus for 2018. Meanwhile Mercedes is going to add a high-end model to its range as well.

Company’s board member shared with TopGear that the model will be based on the next-gen chassis. It is unknown if it can be a SUV.

It is obvious that the SUV segment will continue its growth, so a Maybach SUV is possible. Customers enjoy luxury, design, the sporty image and utility. That is why the SUV trend will not disappear.

It is hard to imagine what the German company will prepare for us. We bet that it will probably choose the next-generation GLS as the base.

By the way, BMW has also stated about its high-end version of the coming-soon X7 flagship SUV. Its price will feature more than $100,000.
