A New 6.6L Duramax Diesel Engine For 2017 Silverado HD from Chevrolet

Chevrolet has shared about the restyled Duramax 6.6-liter turbo-diesel eight-cylinder for the next year’s Silverado HD.

The next-gen restyled diesel motor will feature more hp and pound-feet (445 hp and 910 pound-feet, to be exact). The producer says that the noise is idle (actually, reduced to 38%).

The engine incorporates an innovated control system that has been developed by GM along with an innovated air intake set-up.

The motor will be joined to Allison 1000 6-speed automatic gearbox and feature lots of refinements. A new torque converter will be provided. Moreover, the discussed unit will be able to function on B20 biodiesel. It is also manufactured at the DMAX Ltd. Plant located in Moraine (Ohio).
