General Motors and Subaru Declare Takata Airbag Recalls

General Motors and Subaru have stated about more cars falling under the Takata Airbag Recall.

General Motors has to recall 374,715 high-capacity GMC Sierras and Chevy Silverados. The models fall under 2007 and 2008 years of production. The automaker is going to fix the problem with airbags.

As to Subaru, it has to recall 60,000 cars equipped with the airbags under consideration. The recall touches the 2005 Saab 9-2x wagon and the 2004-2005 Impeza.

Takata, the supplier of airbags, declared that its airbags are faulty. It has started a nationwide recall for 33.8 million cars. The problematic airbags can deploy with too much force. This will lead to explosion of the inflator. In such a case, all the passengers will be hurt with metal shrapnel. This large recall involves eleven different producers. The defective airbags have become the reason of six deaths already. The fact that a lot of the vehicles with defective Takata airbags which have not been detected yet is terrifying.

Both automakers are not aware of any fatalities or injuries as a result of the issue. Allan Adler, the spokesperson of GM, assures that the producer does not expect to see any more recalls of Takata airbags.
