CEO of Honda Steps Down

Takanobu Ito, the current CEO of Honda, has stated about his decision to step down from the helm of the company.

Research and development chief executive Takahiro Hachigo may become Ito’s successor. The information appears in the time of a large global recall of millions of cars because of faulty Takata safety bags. They have connection to six deaths in Honda cars. The recalls forced Ito to delay few product arrivals in Japan specifically.

All this indicates that the producer is trying to move forward from these uneasy times with a younger leader. Ito stated at the press conference that he believes this is a fine chance to revamp their entire operations.

The former CEO had a lot of reforms coming to their completion. They include adding extra quality checks, trying to curb the burdensome workload and slowing development. Hachigo promised to move in the same way as Ito.

During the time he was CEO, Ito has driven Honda through the recession without a year loss and he envisioned the company’s return to Formula 1 racing. He also took part in resurrection of the NSX and got the producer’s commuter het business up and successful.

Hachigo told that Ito was set about major reforming and now in 2015, the automaker has reached the point where they can deliver the results of his work in tangible forms to their clients.
