American Car Thieves Prefer Honda Again

Accord and Civic models by the Japanese carmaker for the second year in a row are in the top of stealing rating.

National Insurance Crime Bureau informs that last year somewhat more than 51 thousand Accords entered the stolen list and Civic accounts for almost 44 thousand – a close pursuit. Top three is wrapped up with Ford of the largest size; it left 28.5 thousand owners carless.

Close to it is the fellow American Chevrolet and top-five breaker Toyota Camry (23,000 and 14,500, correspondingly). Then the thieves send their respect to the domestic carmakers ones again with Dodge. A variety of Japanese offerings crowd in the last positions of Top-10 of the sad rating with 9 to 6.5 thousand yield (by Acura and Nissans).

Despite stable leadership of Honda on the U.S. stolen car lists stored at the police departments, generally one can distinguish a positive tendency implying that each year fewer cars are stolen stateside.

American thieves also prefer the newest offerings on the market, which is proven by last year’s Ford F-150 taking the first position in the MY theft classification.
