220K Vehicles called back by Ford

Ford recalls nearly 220,000 cars in North America because of three separate problems.

The biggest of the recalls touches 212,911 Ford Explorer and Police Interceptor Utility cars in North America. They affected cars which belong to 2011-2013 model years. The problem is hidden in the door handle spring inside the cabin. It can become unseated and, in such a way, increase the risk of the door’s unlatching in a side-impact crash. The producer has not heard any injuries or accidents connected with the problem.

The second recall has to do with the 2013-21015 Lincoln MKT limos. They have problems with the vacuum pump relay. Nearly 1,725 cars have this problem. Ford shared that the issue has minimum two underhood fires. The vacuum pump relay and all the associated wiring will be replaced in dealerships free of charge.

Also Ford recalls the 2013-2015 ambulances from F-Series Super Duty which received 6.7-litre engines. An issue with the exhaust heat temperature sensor should be fixed. Nearly 6,500 vehicles fall under the issue which can cause a wrong high-temperature reading.
