Wheels-Related Recall of Cadenza from Kia

Fragility of wheels put under Kia Cadenza has been underestimated, which led to the presently announced recall.

American profile association stated in its report that the recall affected more than 3,000 cars. Those unlucky Cadenza saloons ride on large aluminium wheels. The most serious hazard comes from uneven roads which may cause a fracture to the wheel if the vehicle gets into a pothole. Damage will immediately transfer to tyres.

Naturally, the defect originates from incorrect assembly, as it turns out that tensile strength of the wheels does not reach the required level. Smaller wheels or those made of chrome do not show the similar malfunctioning. Kia will start a full-fledged recall campaign in late June changing the details and refunding the losses of drivers. Thankfully, nobody was harmed or got into a crash because of wheel defect in Cadenza.
