Next Year's Mercedes to Get an S Line-up Extension

It has become known that what intended to be a facelift of CLS63 AMG will really become a new Mercedes modification.

As the S model will appear, in the USA it will be available with the standard trim only.

The car will get a performance boost: with the same twin-turbo engine for eight cylinders as the standard offering, S model will produce both more hp and lb-ft. American drivers will get a benefit of 4x4; in all other regions four-wheel drive will pass as an option.

At the moment sprint characteristics of CLS63 AMG S total 3.6 seconds for 60-mph run, which does not suit Mercedes for its Speedshift transmission variant. External design will be changed a bit for 2015 model year, when a range of CLS cars will obtain similar looks including special form of front grille and valence.
