Mild Innovations of the Rio before the Presentation in Paris

The Rio supermini will be presented in Paris this week, so Kia has revealed the model’s minor facelift.

The offering of B-segment has gained an innovated tiger nose radiator enclosure, three new alloy wheel alternatives (sizes from 15 to 17 inches), fresh fog lights and sophisticated nip and tuck enclosing soft modernizations of front and back bumpers. The model will be completed in two palettes – Urban Blue and Digital Yellow.

The air vents are installed into control panel and have chrome surrounds. The innovated central stack is situated around the audio system.The company’s audio and video navigation system of the next generation and DAB digital radio will feature a 7-inch display and bring higher processing speed together with quicker route estimation.

The innovated model will be offered with an alternative of four powertrains producing from 55 to 80 kW (75 - 109 hp). The power will be sent to the front wheels through a hand controlled speed-change box of either five or six speeds altogether with optional automatic delivery of four speeds. All the powertrains can be optionally bought with ISG technology of second generation. In such a way, the model can be equipped with an innovated control of alternator, low-rolling resilient tyres, a better starting engine and an automatic start and stop.

The version is produced in Sohari, South Korea will reach dealerships in Europe in the 2015. After that, Rio Sedan is going to face similar innovations.
