Axing of IS F from Lexus

One of the Dutch periodicals have broken the confirmed news of discontinuation of IS F.

For seven years of sale only approximately 11,000 cars were moved by the brand. The newest RC-F managed to substitute IS in all aspects and made the F modification out-of-date. Focus group of IS F will surely be attended to, as Lexus put an eight-cylinder engine for 5.0 litres making 450 bhp and 383 lb-ft as a powerplant.

On the other hand, more novelties are to be expected from the rest of the line-up. These include, among others, the production embodiment of a concept called Lf-LC. Customers are to wait three more years for it to be released, but the waiting will be gratified: the engineers of the luxury brand designed an eight-cylinder developing 475 bhp working together with a multi-speed transmission. Allegedly, a hybrid is to follow with the round 500 bhp.

The only reservation for the IS F comeback is the possibility of a manual transmission offering, but it is still unofficial.
