Acura ILX Powered by 2.4L, Automatic Being Considered
Acura could have biggest plans in mind for its basic-level ILX than those it revealed mid-May for the 2014 model year.
Speaking with Carsbase, US Honda Head Mike Accavitti informed the automaker is planning to offer the motor with an automatic, although he didn’t tell when that could happen.
US Honda executive vice president informed that choosing not to provide the larger 2.4-liter motor with an automatic is meaning to be something of a weak side for the vehicle. Currently, customers can get just an optional 201-hp motor with a 6-speed manual.
Extending its motor and transmission combinations might further squeeze the little space Acura fills with the TSX.
Even if the bigger 4-cylinder isn’t provided with an automatic, the brand will offer new standard features for 2014, telling it offers clients a better value.
Those will feature 17-inch wheels, new leather seat upholstery, a multi-angle rear-view camera and enhanced sound system among others. The vehicle’s start price will increase by $1,000, but the company informs its new standard features represent around $2,000 in refreshments.
