2015 Lexus IS F Coupe Detected

Now that the fresh 2014 Lexus IS has hit the market, the Japanese brand is working on the Lexus IS F Coupe, and CarsBase’s photographers have just detected one testing.

Minor changes given to the IS F feature a more aggressive looking front end that features large air intakes on the front corners. The grille insert is also fresh, and there is even a small hood scoop on this special test vehicle. The rear receives the same treatment, sporting broader fenders, a little pop-up spoiler and the signature quad, vertically stacked tail pipes.

Fresh multi-spoke wheels sit on this test vehicle as well, along with the huge slotted brake rotors complete with wide calipers.

What will come under the hood of the IS-F is still a secret, but a rumor that appeared last week suggests the vehicle will ditch its current 5.0-liter V8 because it would not meet Euro6 emissions standards. Both turbocharged and naturally aspirated motor options are under consideration, though the report claims that Junichiro Furuyuma, head designer for the fresh IS is leaning towards a naturally-aspirated powerplant.

That 5.0-liter motor gave 416 hp in the old IS F, while the fresh vehicle is expected to provide about 450 hp.
