2014 Subaru Legacy and Outback Prices Revealed

Subaru has unveiled prices for the 2014 Legacy and Outback, both of which keep their launching MSRP from 2013.

The 2014 Subaru Legacy price is around $20,295, plus a $795 destination cost, while the 2014 Outback starts at $23,495 MSRP, plus a $825 destination fee. When taken to the top trim level, the Legacy reaches MSRP of $29,690 while the Outback tops out about $32,920.

No major upgrades came to the core of either vehicle, which still receive base power from a 173-horsepower 2.5-liter 4-cylinder motor, paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. If more power is a priority, customers can get a 256-horsepower, 3.6-liter 6-cylinder motor that is hooked up to a 5-speed automatic. Subaru’s all-wheel drive structure is regular on both models, and a CVT is an option on base cars for both.

The main changes for 2014 made to the packaging of both vehicles. The 2.5i Premium models now equipped with the All-Weather Package, which features heated front seats, heated side mirrors and windshield wiper de-icer. Inside, Premium models now also equipped with display sound system including a 4.3-inch screen, 6 speakers and SiriusXM Satellite Radio with a 4-month free trial subscription. Over the 2013 models, the 2014 Premium trim Outback and Legacy require $300 more.

Also fresh for the Premium trim is the supplement of Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist option which includes Adaptive Cruise System, Pre-Collision Braking and Vehicle Lane Departure Alarm.
