2014 Lexus IS F-Sport Receives the TRD Therapy
The F Sport version for the Lexus IS is the Japanese brand’s way to make the elegant sedan even sportier. So what will happen when Toyota Racing Development (TRD) will get the already amped up vehicle?
The TRD Lexus IS F Sport is perhaps what the F Sport car should be from the production line. Underlining the already more aggressive body lines, TRD outfits the IS F Sport with subtle front bumper lines, fresh side skirts, and a rear diffuser to house a dual exhaust in the bumper. 19-inch wheels sporting 15 spokes might not be for everybody, but some would say they’re trendier than the factory F Sport units.
Motor performance is untouched, but suspension can be upgraded with a pack of sport springs and dampers that not only makes the sedan lower but enhances handling thanks to stiffer spring rates. The TRD parts are currently only available in Japan and they’re rather expensive with the entire list of TRD’s offerings for the IS F-Sport tallying more than $12,000, however everything is available a la carte.
