Porsche Rumored to Build S1 Supercar with Flat-Eight Engine

Porsche is reportedly preparing a bespoke standalone supercar developed under the internal project code S1. The mid-engine flagship is slated to feature a gasoline flat-eight boxer engine, stepping away from the industry's rush toward full electrification. The concept follows earlier experimental Weissach prototypes that pushed 750 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque from a twin-turbo eight-cylinder layout.
