Mazda has confirmed that the next-generation MX-5 Miata is in development with a target weight between 1,000 and 1,200 kg. The new roadster platform will support both a naturally aspirated Skyactiv-Z engine and a potential electric powertrain while preserving its signature Jinba Ittai agility.
