Lotus Confirms New 1,000+ HP Hybrid Esprit (Type 135)

Lotus is reviving the iconic Esprit nameplate with the Type 135, a mid-engine hybrid supercar targeting over 1,000 horsepower and a curb weight under 1.5 tons. The powertrain lineup will feature an 800V hybrid V8 alongside a V6 option, paired with a lightweight dual-clutch transmission. To counter hybrid mass, Lotus incorporates F1-derived electric motor technology to preserve its signature agile handling.
