Wuling Hongguang Mini EV I (E50) gallery (2020–2024)
The first generation of the ultra-compact three-door electric city car from Wuling debuted in China in 2020 and quickly became the top-selling EV in the region.
The inaugural generation of the compact urban electric car was developed on the SGMW GSEV global platform to deliver affordable personal transportation in crowded cities. The vehicle features a three-door hatchback body alongside a limited production convertible variant. Power comes from a single rear-mounted electric motor producing between 27 and 41 horsepower, backed by a lithium iron phosphate battery with capacities ranging from 9.3 to 26.5 kilowatt-hours. Drive is routed through a single-speed reduction gear directly to the rear wheels. The vehicle reaches a top speed of 100 kilometers per hour with an electric range spanning between 120 and 300 kilometers under CLTC protocols. The interior adopts a four-passenger layout where the rear seats fold down to provide expanded cargo space. Standard technology includes a digital instrument cluster, manual climate controls, ABS braking, and rear parking sensors. While primarily marketed in China, it also entered selected international markets across Asia and Europe.
