The Wuling Almaz is a compact crossover SUV manufactured in Indonesia since February 2019 based on the Baojun 530 platform for Southeast Asian markets.
The Wuling Almaz compact crossover SUV debuted in Indonesia in February 2019 as a rebadged variant of the Baojun 530 platform shared with Chevrolet Captiva and MG Hector. Built on a front-wheel-drive unibody platform co-developed by GM and SAIC, the vehicle offers both five-seat and seven-seat cabin configurations. Standard models are powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine generating 140 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, mated to either a six-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission CVT. In late 2022, the lineup was expanded with the Almaz Hybrid, combining a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle naturally aspirated petrol engine with an electric motor and a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission DHT for a combined output of 174 horsepower. The interior is highlighted by a prominent vertical 10.4-inch portrait touchscreen infotainment display, Wuling Indonesian Command voice recognition system operating in Indonesian, a panoramic glass sunroof, Infinity premium sound system, and an Advanced Driver Assistance System ADAS encompassing adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and autonomous emergency braking.
