Volvo Polestar 1 I (SPA) gallery (2019–2021)
First generation of the Polestar 1 luxury plug-in hybrid GT coupe built on the SPA platform from 2019 to 2021.
The Polestar 1 high-performance plug-in hybrid GT premiered in October 2017 and was produced in limited quantities from 2019 to 2021 at the Polestar Production Centre in Chengdu, China. Based on the Volvo Concept Coupe on a modified SPA chassis, it featured a carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) body structure that cut weight and raised torsional rigidity by 45 percent. It was built as a 2-door coupe.
The hybrid drivetrain paired a 2.0-liter supercharged/turbocharged petrol engine driving the front wheels with twin rear electric motors featuring active torque vectoring, combining for 609 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque. A 34 kWh battery enabled up to 124 km of pure electric driving range.
