The exclusive Volvo 780 Bertone coupe debuted at the 1985 Geneva Motor Show. Designed and assembled by Carrozzeria Bertone in Turin, Italy, it was produced as a 2-door coupe. It featured bespoke body panels, a lowered roofline, and an opulent cabin trimmed in genuine hardwood and Poltrona Frau leather.
Engines included the 2.8-liter PRV V6 (B280), 2.0/2.3-liter four-cylinder Turbos, and the 2.4-liter D24TIC turbodiesel. The 780 incorporated Volvo's independent Multi-link rear axle. Total production reached approximately 8,500 units over five years.
