Volvo 760 I (760) gallery (1982–1990)
First generation of the Volvo 760 flagship executive series produced from 1982 to 1990.
The Volvo 760 executive car launched in February 1982, redefining Volvo's position in the luxury segment. Manufactured as a 4-door sedan and 5-door wagon (introduced in 1985), it boasted Electronic Climate Control (ECC) and opulent interior appointments.
Engine offerings included the 2.8-liter PRV V6 (B28/B280), four-cylinder B23ET/B230FT Turbo engines, and the D24T 2.4-liter turbodiesel—which made it the world's fastest accelerating diesel sedan upon launch. A 1987 redesign awarded the sedan a sophisticated Multi-link independent rear suspension.
