The exclusive Volvo 262C coupe premiered at the 1977 Geneva Motor Show to celebrate Volvo's 50th anniversary. Designed in collaboration with Stile Bertone, the vehicle was assembled at Bertone's Turin plant in Italy as a 2-door coupe. It stood out with a roofline chopped by 10 cm, vinyl roof covering, C-pillar crown emblems, and pleated leather upholstery.

Power was derived from a 2.7/2.8-liter PRV V6 engine (B27F/B28F producing 140-155 hp) coupled to a 4-speed manual with overdrive or a BorgWarner 3-speed automatic. A total of 6,622 units were hand-crafted during its production life.
